By the end of their first year, students understand the stimulating and challenging nature of the IB Diploma. They also know that the second year is crucial in securing the required grades to get into their dream college or university.

Our IB summer course help students to avoid a ‘summer dip’ by using their time effectively. With highly experienced IB teachers, we consolidate a student’s year one learning and close knowledge gaps.

Our years’ experience means that we understand the IBDP, its requirements and its pressures.

The course which we propose is designed for students who have finished their first year (year 11) of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and who wish to deepen their knowledge and skills in certain subject areas so that they can achieve a higher grade in the final exams.

It’s an ideal course for student who are motivated to learn.
The course given entirely in English.

This course will allow the student to continue working on the following areas:

Mathematics Chemistry Physics Biology Economics Visual Arts

 

There will be an option to complete the C.A.Ss programme by carrying out activities related to the programme´s objectives. At the end of the stay, all students will have a dossier documenting all the activities carried out and the goals that they worked towards and achieved. The dossier will contain a report and evidence of what they have done (certificates, photos, etc.)

The course will also allow them the option to deepen their knowledge of the methodology of extended essay and theory of knowledge, along with coaching sessions on how to work efficiently in teams, and time management.

Students who wish to deepen their knowledge of the arquitect Antonio Gaudí will have the option to do so by taking his work as stimulus for the Visual Arts projects.

The course timetable is from 9 to 6:

  • 4 hours of class in the morning
  • 3 hours of CAS activities / Visual Arts / IB TOK, Extended Essay and Time Management in the afternoon
  • Students have to choose an option for every time-slot, which they will continue throughout the week

Additionally, the activities and stay are complemented by cultural and sporting activities on the school grounds and surroundings from Monday to Friday evenings, and cultural trips to tourist and recreational places of interest on weekends.

Monitor-guide: Will accompany the students and residents while at the school and residence areas, and during activities and trips.

All equipment necessary for the course is provided.

 

Accommodation

There is the residence option: classes with residency, full board, activities and weekend trips; and there are 2 options for students who don´t need the residence: classes with half-board, and classes with half-board and weekend trips.

Students who wish to may stay in the Six Lemon World residence. The bedrooms are private and have a private bathroom with a shower, a desk and seat, weekly cleaning, bedsheets and towels, mini-fridge, safe, and a kettle. Residents just have to bring clothes, soap, shampoo and other personal items.

 

Students attending our Mid IB Summer School have a fantastic summer and a highly effective academic experience. This investment in a student’s IBDP will be crucial in securing the required grades for students to get into their dream college or university. The programme is prepared using the combined expertise of our Academic Team, all of whom are highly experienced IB teachers. The course improves students confidence by reviewing year one material and developing new skills, techniques and perspective.
